Please check the MATAGORDA BAY CAUTION page. Serious dangers have caused damage to vessels. CAUTION ADVISED!

Back from our cruise and glad to be home in Rockport again. Below are some details from our recent trip to Port Isabel from Rockport. We had PLENTY OF WIND, but found most of the trip exhilarating.
Announcements: I recently became cruising editor for the Southern Waterway Guide and have extended my modest expertise about Texas to their 2012 edition which will be available October. I found it an interesting experience to write following a set of guidelines far different than those I use for my own Texas Guide. Also, very different having a deadline set by someone else. It was fun! The www.WaterwayGuide.com covers the entire Gulf including Florida and the Keys and also covers Florida east coast as far as St. Augustine. If you are thinking of an extended cruise (what? beyond Texas????) the guide provides a large amount of information for a reasonable price.
Check out "Cruising World" magazine March issue-A small piece written by yours truly will be included.

South to Corpus Christi-Port Mansfield & Port Isabel

Normal April winds of 25 to 35 accompanied us from Rockport to Port Isabel this April. We spent a lot of time anchored out while waiting for a weather "window." Finally we gathered up our courage and headed on piece by piece, making about 40 miles a day. Stops at Bahia Marina-Ingleside Cove-Spinnaker Hole-Rohoffs-Harbor Bait and Tackle and Sea Ranch II at Southpoint rewarded us with new experiences and new friends. Details to soon appear on this page.

Last Tangle tucked in at Bahia Marina-Sweet!
